The Saint Francis Dam Disaster National Memorial and Monument was designated on March 12, 2019, by the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act, Sec. 1111. This site is the only national monument managed by the Forest Service that is also designated as a national memorial.
Blue Tomorrow, Student Conservation Association, Los Padres Forest Association, and the Forest Service worked together to design and build the St. Francis Dam interpretive trail located within the Angeles National Forest. Blue Tomorrow developed a document to provide information to assist the Angeles National Forest in selecting a trail route at the Saint Francis Dam Disaster Site. As part of this project, eight (8) interpretive signs were developed and installed on the trail.
