Jamul Watershed Assessment & erosion control project

The purpose of this project is to complete a watershed assessment and associated erosion control activities that will improve current and future water quality issues. Blue Tomorrow is currently working on the survey plan, which will document and quantify erosion and sedimentation processes along Willow Creek. Once completed, field work activities will take place to gather baseline data using standardized methods that can be repeated in the future to evaluate changes to the stream from disturbances or mitigation projects. The final assessment will give the Tribe the information they need to identify water quality impacts and develop targeted mitigation activities to improve water quality in the watershed and on the Reservation. Implementation activities that will be completed may include planting native plants and installing erosion controls such as straw waddles and erosion cloth.
