Blue Tomorrow is currently working with Morongo to conduct a Wildlife Conservation Area (WCA) Assessment and develop a WCA Management Plan. This initiative aims to protect and enhance wildlife habitats within the Reservation while preserving Tribal members’ access to these sites for recreational use and gathering. Through a systematic assessment and management planning, the initiative will identify priority conservation zones, establish restoration and conservation strategies, and maintain these natural resources for both ecological and cultural functions. A survey plan is currently being developed by Blue Tomorrow and field surveys will be completed in Spring of 2026. This will involve evaluating habitat quality through vegetation structure, species composition, and soil conditions; Disturbance impacts including grazing effects, erosion severity, and human activities; and Conservation potential based on habitat connectivity, wildlife value, and restoration feasibility.
