Blue Tomorrow is currently working with the Morongo Tribe to conduct a Wildlife Conservation Area (WCA) Assessment and develop a WCA Management Plan. This initiative aims to protect and enhance wildlife habitats within the Reservation while preserving Tribal members’ access to these sites for recreational use and gathering. Through a systematic assessment and management planning, the initiative will identify priority conservation zones, establish restoration and conservation strategies, and maintain these natural resources for both ecological and cultural functions. A survey plan was developed by Blue Tomorrow and field surveys are in the process of being completed. This involves evaluating habitat quality through vegetation structure, species composition, and soil conditions; disturbance impacts including grazing effects, erosion severity, and human activities; and conservation potential based on habitat connectivity, wildlife value, and restoration feasibility.
