Paskenta – Tribal Climate Vulnerability Assessment

Climate warming trends observed over the past century have resulted in global changes in temperature and precipitation. These primary climate change effects are projected to drive specific impacts to the northern California interior and Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians. This project collected information for the tribe to evaluate threats to the transportation network, Tribal economy, and critical resources from potential climate change effects. To prepare the community for climate change threats and to protect critical resources, Blue Tomorrow performed an exposure assessment, a resource inventory, assessed climate change impacts, and assessed the existing capacity of the Tribe to address climate change vulnerabilities. A database was also developed with spatial data, demographics, and other inventories data presented in the report.
