rose valley creek restoration project & revegetation plan

The Rose Valley Creek Restoration Project was implemented by the Los Padres National Forest (LPNF) on National Forest land through a partnership with California Trout. Rose Valley Creek is a tributary to Sespe Creek, a Designated Wild and Scenic River that currently has three earthen dams obstructing stream flow. The objective of this project is to restore the natural vegetation of Rose Valley Creek and the 37-acre drainage area. Blue Tomorrow developed a revegetation plan to support restoration designs. Additionally, Blue Tomorrow specified native plant species palettes (collaborating with the Los Padres Tribal Liaison and Santa Ynez Chumash Environmental Office) for various vegetation groups, evaluated current and future climate conditions to determine species suitability, and designed erosion control measures, invasive plant management, and irrigation system for the project area.
